Research - Don't leave home without it! Accountants To You® can help in providing the research you are looking for in a desired company. Work with your A2U Consultant/Recruiter as research can "personalize" your job.

Dress for success - First impressions are truly lasting impressions! Suits are your best bet! Make sure your clothes are neat and clean. Avoid too much cologne or perfume. Make sure to have clean nails (no chipped polish or dirt). Keep any jewelry to a minimum. Think simple while dressing for the job.

Ask good questions and answer questions honestly, directly, and briefly - Your A2U Consultant/Recruiter can review these areas and provide you with numerous questions that will set you apart from other candidates.

Perception is reality - Ask your A2U Consultant/Recruiter for recommendations about the company you are interviewing with.

Answer questions directly, honestly, briefly - Interviewers are looking for trustworthy candidates. Candidates who appear unprepared through wordy answers hurt their chances in landing a job.

Follow-up or fall behind - Be sure to check back with your A2U Consultant/Recruiter to help you develop an effective follow-up strategy.

Enthusiasm - Show appreciation, thoughtfulness and some measure of excitement.  No one enjoys dealing with someone who just sits there and answers questions in a monotone voice!

Closing the interview - Always recap your qualifications and the benefits you bring to the job.

Always ask what is the next step in the interviewing process.

Always ask for the job when appropriate. Remember, you can't turn down a job that has never been offered.

Always ask for a business card. A business card contains pertinent information i.e. thank you notes and follow up calls.

Always express thanks to the interviewer for his or her time.
